For over an hour, ten different people are telling the story of how the protagonist meets his girlfriend. The narration is in first person, so it's hard to tell if the narrator is male or female. They're just sitting in a living room, holding hands and talking about what makes them feel awkward when surrounded by other people. There's no dialogue happening in this story-telling session, but that doesn't mean something can't be said through story-telling! Listen to these strangers tell their short stories together or read them out loud to someone you love. My girlfriend and I fell in love when we were in college. We were both in the same engineering programme and we often used to hang out together after class. Things slowly took a romantic turn and we started going out together, studying separately at that point. Eventually, we decided to live together in a hostel in college campus. Our day usually would start off with sharing a bowl of oats in the canteen and then studying separately until lunchtime. Then, we would leave for lunch together or maybe even go back to our rooms if we wanted some private time to ourselves. Studying would continue until the evening, when we would do sport or go out together. We had no idea what life was like after college so it's very nice to look back at the memories of spending time with my girlfriend during this time. I enjoyed her company so much that I decided to ask for her hand in marriage during my graduation ceremony. It was a small ceremony that took place in front of our parents and relatives only. And then after that, we moved to England for further education. It was amazing to meet the people we did at university and make new friends like everyone else did. It was a period of time that we enjoyed together and shared different interests with each other. The best thing about it was having the friend I had already made; the one who knew me very well, which allowed us to share interests and get along like that! Those were the best years of our lives, but one day, my girlfriend decided to move back because her father fell ill. She went back home immediately after getting a notification from her family. I decided to delay my trip a few days later so I could inform my new friends in England about my decision. All of them were very happy for me. I had become one of their best friends after all! The first thing that came into my mind the moment I stepped out of the airport was "What will happen now?". It was weird because I had never expected to live without her. But I decided to forget about her and take myself out for a drink to celebrate my new life here in Manchester, England.
